incorporating all foods

Here’s something … all foods are allowed.

This may feel completely at odds with what we’ve been trained to believe, but it turns out that we’re allowed to eat what we want. Our bodies are designed to digest food and do not create rules to limit food groups, we do.

Hearing this for the first time knocked me off my feet, but over the years, I’ve learned this to be true. The more food groups I incorporated into my meals (and snacks), the less digestive issues I had and the less I clung to the previously held beliefs about the need to limit certain food groups.

This may sound oversimplified but in my experience, it’s been an essential thing I needed to learn. I’ve learned how to eat all foods with no guilt (or stomach aches) and that is something I’m so grateful for. It hasn’t been easy and I don’t want to minimize the journey, but I want to stress the incredibly positive impact this has had on my life.
