let it sparkle
It’s been a busy few weeks with the holidays but I wanted to drop by to make a note of a simple technique I use to stay calm, centered and connected during stressful times.
If I’m in a quiet place and can close my eyes, I begin by doing so. I then take some deep box breaths (4 seconds in, 4 second hold, 4 second exhale, 4 second hold) and imagine a sparkling light glowing around me. For me, it’s yellow but you may see a different color. This is my energy and I imagine it completely surrounding me, protecting me from other energies and reminding me of what I need (and that I deserve space!). This may sound odd or too simple to be helpful, but I’ve found it to be wildly impactful when I’m overwhelmed, especially when I’m around family or feeling enmeshed or codependent with a loved one (whom I love but may need some differentiation from!).
Once I learned how to do this visualization in a quiet place and with my eyes closed, I can now use this even when I’m in the same room as other people. I just keep my eyes open and breathe and use the same visualization as above.
Pro tip: keep your favorite crystal in your pocket to give you an extra energy boost!
